Anya Doll is all about layers. Primarily a fiber artist, she creates collages prayer and meditation flags with freestyle machine stitching. But she began as an acrylic painter and still enjoys building her skills using the glazing technique. This requires multiple applications of different colors upon each other to create depth and a “glowing effect.” She finds her fiber work informs her painting and enjoys that her fiber work deepens her understanding of the glazing in her paintings as well.
