Heather Smith is a nature-inspired paper-quilling and mixed media artist living in Hillsboro, Oregon. She is a member of the North American and English Quilling Guilds, and Oregon Botanical Artists. Her fascination with creating art has drawn her to a variety of artistic mediums, explored over decades. Self-taught, she began paper quilling in 2014 and it now takes center stage in most of her work.
As a teaching artist, Heather enjoys sharing the unique and versatile art of paper quilling with others. She regularly gives classes at The Walter’s Cultural Arts Center and founded The Hillsboro Paper Quilling Club in 2023 to expand interest in and knowledge of paper quilling. When not in her studio, she is out in nature with her spouse of 30 years, photographing and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, gathering inspiration for her next works.
